Hi, I’m Laura

And I didn’t come to this work by accident.

A mum and counsellor for mums with long red hair and a tattoo on her arm, smiling, standing outside on grass, with a young boy hugging her, both enjoying a sunny day in a park or backyard with trees and bushes in the background.

Like you, I’ve known the raw edges of motherhood, the moments where everything shifts and you no longer recognise yourself.

My first birth ended in an emergency caesarean. It wasn’t how I’d planned my entry into motherhood, or my baby’s entry into the world, and it left me with a deep grief, a lot of questions, and a tangle of feelings.

Motherhood has a way of breaking us open, but in that breaking, we often discover a strength we didn’t know we had.

By the time I welcomed my second baby, things felt profoundly different, not just because of the care and support I’d invited in, but because something had shifted within me. I was learning to trust myself, to soften, and to know I was enough as a woman and a mother.

Motherhood cracked me open in ways I could never have prepared for. But it also planted a seed, a desire to create the kind of space and support I know is deeply needed

A space where every mother feels held, seen, and supported as she finds her way, and remembers she was never meant to do this alone.

My approach

Therapy with me isn’t about fixing you, because you’re not broken. It’s about holding a space where the heavy, the hidden, the messy, the joyful parts of you can all exist.

A space where you can notice, explore, and begin to understand yourself amid one of life's greatest upheavals… motherhood.

In our work together, I draw on several modalities, including:

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS)

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

  • Somatic Psychotherapy

  • Expressive approaches such as art and play therapy

I also lean on the wisdom of attachment theory, interpersonal neurobiology, and polyvagal theory, always with your lived experience at the centre.

I know firsthand the power of being held and continue to do my own inner work and mentorship. The depth and care I continue to receive ripples through everything, and it shapes what I offer in our sessions.

What breathes life into my work

It’s my lived experience as a mother, the messy, beautiful, contradictory journey of my own matresence, that brings the depth and the heart to every session I hold.

That lived wisdom is strengthened by my professional training:

  • BA in Psychology

  • Master of Psychotherapy and Counselling

  • Over 10 years supporting families

  • Ongoing perinatal therapist mentorship

My training gives me the framework.

My motherhood journey gives me the soul.

Together, they shape the way I walk alongside mothers in their own seasons of change.

Beyond the therapy room

I’m a mum to two wild and wonderful boys and have an incredibly supportive partner.

I can’t keep my car tidy to save my life, but I can parallel park a mini bus like a pro. I’ve also got a strong competitive streak and have been described as a bit of a weapon on the touch football field.

My friends say I’m the kind of person you can talk to about anything, which turns out to be quite useful when you’re a therapist.

I find peace by the ocean, joy in small rituals (aka my morning chai), and I find there is something so magical about watching the full moon rise over the water.

Just like in life, I bring my warmth, humour, and compassion into our sessions together too.

Here’s where we start…

I’d be honoured to walk alongside you
