Being person-centred the way I work is very flexible. We will always begin with discussing your needs and goals for our sessions and I may take a bit of a history of how you have come to be here. In our work together I may have suggestions about how things may work best, however as each person and situation is unique - our work is always a collaboration.
With adults and couples I generally begin with talk therapy, using the tools of our somatic (body) senses and if you would like we can explore things using art/play/symbols.
With children I will always have a session with you as parents/carers first, and there is the option to continue working with you and support your family and child through the support in our sessions or bringing the child in. Children under 5 my recommendation is for everyone to be in the room and over 5 we have the option of 1:1 work with your child. Working with children is a constant collaboration as your relationship with them is the soil they are blossoming from, and I am purely there to help both the soil and the plant thrive.

When starting out, consistency is important as is building connection and comfortability in the space. Depending on your needs I would always suggest starting out weekly/fortnightly to aid this process and from there you can always move to monthly or as you need.

It all depends on your needs and commitment. There are people who feel better after just a few sessions, others who embed them in their ongoing self/community care and come at regular intervals and others who just book in as they need.
For families and children be aware that this process may take time, as especially with children building rapport, safety and trust is key to the therapeutic process and with some this takes more time than others.

No, you can book in directly with me. If you have a mental health care plan you are also welcome to book in with me, however I will not be able to provide you with the medicare rebate. My session prices reflect this to keep it affordable for you.

Your baby is absolutely welcome. You may however prefer to arrange for someone to be present to help support you with them to get the most out of our time.
If you are early postpartum please feel free to inquire about in-home support (only available to those in and around the Sutherland Shire)
