FAQ

Every session looks a little different because you're not a template and neither is the work. We usually start by checking in on where you're at and what feels most pressing, and from there we follow what comes up. I might have some thoughts on what could be useful, but this is always a collaboration, not something I'm doing to you. With individuals I tend to begin with conversation and weave in body awareness as we go. With couples it's similar, making sure both people feel they can speak and be heard before we start going anywhere deeper. If you're curious about using art, sandtray or other expressive approaches, those are always available too.
-
When you're starting out, consistency matters more than most people expect. I generally recommend weekly or fortnightly sessions in the beginning, because the work builds on itself and the relationship between us needs time to develop before you'll feel the real benefit. Once things feel more settled, many people move to monthly or come as they feel they need to.

There's no honest answer to this that doesn't depend on you, what you're carrying, what you're ready for, and how much space you have to give to this. Some people feel a meaningful shift after a handful of sessions. Others make therapy a longer term part of how they take care of themselves. For couples I'd generally say three months of regular sessions is a reasonable timeframe to start seeing real change, though some people want to continue beyond that and some reach their goals sooner.

No referral needed. You can book directly. If you already have a Mental Health Care Plan from your GP, you're still welcome to work with me, but I'm not registered with Medicare so I can't process rebates. If cost is a barrier, reach out and we can have a conversation about what's possible.
-
Medicare rebates aren't available for sessions with me. For private health, I hope to make this available soon. It will depend on your fund and level of cover though, so it's worth checking directly with your insurer. Some funds do cover psychology or counselling with a registered practitioner.

Yes, your baby is always welcome. You might find it easier to have someone with you to help so you can actually be present in the session, but if it's just you and your little one, we'll make it work. If you're in the early postpartum period and getting out feels like too much, reach out about in-home or online support. That's available for families in and around the Sutherland Shire.
-
Yes. I work with women and couples online across Australia. Online sessions work well for most things, and many clients actually find they go just as deep as in-person work once they've settled into it.
-
I work from a private practice in Cronulla in the Sutherland Shire, and online via video call across Australia.
-
Yes. Most people aren't entirely sure when they first reach out, and that uncertainty is worth bringing into the room too. If you're wondering whether this is the right fit, the best starting point is a free 15-minute discovery call where you can ask questions and get a feel for how I work before committing to anything.
I’d love to hear from you
